Buy this authentic filter–it is a much better value than the cheap knockoffs
The first couple of times I needed to purchase replacement filters for my PUR water dispenser, I purchased knockoffs that promised to be as good as the original, and were way cheaper. But they were only cheaper to purchase, as they did not last very long, and each one I used would eventually clog up. The filters should last for about 60 days (40 gallons), and the knockoffs lasted between 2 and 4 weeks (maybe 15-20 gallons). Now, with the genuine PUR filters, they go the full 2 months and operate perfectly the whole time. I am paying more up front, and much less in the long run.

I’ve used these for years in my countertop or refrigerator water dispenser. They work very well, and while they may not filter out everything, they certainly keep lead and other common water contaminants in check.

I like how easy these are to set up (rinse for 15 sec then good to go, although, I like to discard the first pitcher of filtered water). I love how fast they filter. I once bought the PUR+, and even though those last an extra month, the filtering process is so slow, which is a pain when I forget to fill the pitcher and need water right now. I hate the amount of plastic I am wasting so I looked it up and they have a recycle program. I am on the wait list, so not sure how long that takes.

Bought a pack of this and the water comes out black no matter how I rinse it. Different from the previous PUR filters I have bought. I have even soaked it for an hour and the filtered water still turns black.
