Matcha Kari
Authentic shade-grown, stone-ground Japanese matcha

More than a decade ago, co-founders Dr. Andrew Weil and André Fasciola began developing relationships with our farming partners. As part of our Harvest to Whisk mission, they created an action plan to help more authentic producers continue their tradition of producing the highest quality matcha and importing the highest-quality matcha available, and providing tea lovers everywhere with the world’s best matcha tea.

A Focus on Quality
We choose to import only those products that met our standards for color, aroma, and flavor.
How did we get our start?
In 2007 we traveled to Japan and experienced traditional matcha & fell in love with it. We were determined to import the best matcha and share it with an appreciation for great quality matcha.
What problem are we solving?
We were astounded at the cost of ultra-premium matcha in Japan & realized that it was beyond the reach of many American consumers. We wanted to change that.
What makes our products unique?
Matcha Kari’s products are trusted as the only matcha to receive approval from both their proprietary “6-Stage Purity & Potency” &”Harvest To Whisk” processes.

Quality matcha
Organic Barista Ceremonial: This is a really great matcha. I was concerned “barista grade” may not be as good as ceremonial grade, but I decided to try it anyway because it’s about $11 cheaper (and it’s still a ceremonial grade vs culinary). This matcha has a nice bright green color, and it smells very fresh and springy. I used 1/2 a teaspoon, and I would say a little goes a long way in flavor with this one. It’s strong, fresh, bright and mildly bitter. It also is very smooth and blends really well – no residue or matcha bits floating in the bottom of the cup. I’ve followed Dr. Weil for a long time, and as the “Father of Integrative Medicine,” I trust him to make a good product. It’s lab screened which is important to me as well, and I think it’s fairly priced – esp compared to the $60 brand that a lot of influencers have jumped on which has 2 less servings. Definitely recommend!

Love it! Not bitter! Blends well. Delicious w/cream, sugar, and collagen mixed in.
Love this matcha! It’s not cheap, but it’s very high quality (I’ve tried tons of different brands). It’s never bitter! I drink it every day with cream, sugar and two scoops of collagen. Highly recommend!

High quality
Very high quality, and delicious. It is expensive, but a little goes a long way. And i suspect part of that is from these insane tariffs. Remember YOU pay the tariff!

High-Quality Matcha with Authentic Taste
I’ve been a matcha enthusiast for quite some time, and Dr. Weil Matcha Kari’s Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder has quickly become one of my favorites. This Japanese Barista Grade matcha offers an authentic and enjoyable experience, ideal for both traditional preparation and modern recipes. The first thing that struck me was the vibrant green color of the powder, which is a good indicator of its quality. Upon opening the tin, the fresh, grassy aroma was inviting and promised a delightful matcha experience. When I whisked it into hot water, it produced a beautiful, frothy bowl of tea with a rich, deep flavor that had the perfect balance of umami and slight natural sweetness. One of the standout features of this matcha is its smooth texture. There’s no grittiness, and it blends seamlessly into water or milk. This makes it versatile for various uses, whether I’m making a traditional bowl of matcha, a matcha latte, or incorporating it into desserts and smoothies. The fact that it’s organic and sourced from Japan reassures me about its authenticity and purity. Knowing that I’m consuming a product that adheres to strict farming and production standards is important for my peace of mind and health. That said, there are a couple of areas where it could improve. The price is on the higher end, which might be a consideration for those new to matcha or on a budget. Additionally, the tin could be larger, as 30 grams can go quickly if you’re a regular matcha drinker like me.Overall, Dr. Weil Matcha Kari’s Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder delivers a high-quality matcha experience with its vibrant color, smooth texture, and authentic taste. It’s a bit of an investment, but for those who appreciate good matcha, it’s definitely worth it.

Alternative Everyday Matcha
On the hunt for an affordable, everyday matcha of quality, and I think I found it! With so many of my favorite matcha brands out of stock I’ve been looking for an alternative. There is no bitterness, pleasant taste, and love the convenience of being able to get it off Amazon in just a few days. I’ve tried other brands off of Amazon and have been disappointed with the quality and taste. This however is my 2nd tin.

The only Matcha I buy!
In years I tried so many different brands, cuz I hoped to match or replace this product at a less cost. Well, I keep coming back to this one. This matcha is very clean and has a slightly sweet flavor and beautiful aroma! Just please follow their instructions how to prepare it, otherwise you’ll have a green-gray bitter tea.I used to buy it directly from the makers, but they kept messing up my orders, sometimes doubling it….so I switched to Amazon. Amazon price went up $4 recently, and I do not like it.If anyone is curious, I do love it with Sown Vanilla Oat creamer.

Poor and sad quality for the price
I had high expectations for this product.Starting with the fact that it’s supposedly ceremonial grade, not to mention its price…I think in the end, as they say, “what’s known is better,”But I really wanted to give this famous brand a chance.I think I got carried away by the reviews, but I realized the reviews are somewhat mixed; they don’t show you who actually bought the exact product…Anyway, I didn’t particularly like the flavor :(The smell made me give it a try, which maybe wasn’t that bad, but oh well…And its color is really disappointing…During this shortage, I’ve taken a special liking to a culinary-grade matcha, CULINARY! Its color is even better than this one they sold me here, and I paid double for it…I still can’t believe it, but oh well.
