Extra Cushion and Great Quality, Just Needs Time to Air Out
I was looking for a new yoga mat because I have multiple injuries and needed something with extra cushion, and this one absolutely fit the bill. It is true to size and actually has a full 1 inch thickness, which makes a big difference. I am much more comfortable now when doing yoga and floor exercises.The included carrying strap works well and makes it easy to store, although once it is rolled up, it is noticeably larger in diameter than a standard yoga mat, but that is expected with the extra thickness.The only downside is that it had a very strong chemical odor when I first unpackaged it. I would definitely recommend letting it air out outside if you can. I did not have outdoor space, so I left it in a separate room with the door closed, and the smell faded after about a day. If you are sensitive to chemical smells, just be prepared for that part.Other than that, it has been great. Supportive, cushioned, and exactly what I needed.

Still Going Strong After Months of Use
I’ve been using the Retrospec Solana yoga mat for quite some time now, and it’s been a solid choice. Comfy and cute
It’s bulkier than you’d expect even when rolled up, but I loved the color and the thickness was essential because I have knee issues from my years as a ballerina. It’s just squishy enough to be comfortable in use, but sturdy enough for standing on too. If you wanted to store it better I would suggest getting a harness that can be tightened rather than the free stretchy one it comes with (it also made carrying to and from class a bit of a pain since it slipped a lot while walking). I’d say the length was perfect, it was longer than some others I saw people using and combined with the thickness I definitely got some stares; but I was comfortable and that’s what matters! Definitely a good value and has lasted me well for years.

Good, but not 1 inch thick!
While I like this pad, it is actually 3/4″ thick and not 1 inch as stated. The other dimension are 24″ by 73″, so slightlly longer than stated. Now that I’m using this pad I think that this is plenty thick enough and any thicker would be hard to roll up and too heavy. It comes rolled the wrong way, probably to protect the main use surface. I roll it the opposite way so that it lays flat on the floor. It also was rolled so that a deep crease formed on one end. I hope this will disappear over time. The firmness of this mat is excellent and gives you support without being squishy.

Great ypga mat with band to help roll up and carry
I bought this to do my physical therapy exercises at home. At first I was annoyed that it would try to roll back up on me, but it settled down after a couple weeks of use. It’s easy to roll back up and put away with the elastic carry handle included that also wraps around each end of the mat. It’s firm but comfortable to use and lightweight enough to carry if you have had spine surgery (which is why I bought it.) I am 5’3″ and have plenty of room left so if you are taller than me, you should be fine. It comes in a variety of colors which is another plus. I love this mat and it’s definitely been a big help in doing my own therapy at home.

The retrospec Solana is a great exercise mat!
The retrospec Solana exercise mat is wonderful! I selected black as the color option. It is 1 inch thick (72″ x 24″ x 1″) so there is plenty of padding to make for relatively painfree stretching. It is more comfortable than the PT tables at the rehab center where I am receiving treatment for a sprained ankle! The mat is easy to roll up for storage and to unroll for daily usage. I feel I made the right choose in selecting this brand for the features offered and at a reasonable price. I haven’t tried cleaning it yet because I just purchased it.

Great mat for sensitive knees
Great mat for Pilates, yoga and other exercises. The thickness of the mat is gentle on sensitive knees, which is especially nice for those with arthritis. It does have a bit of a plastic/rubber odor when it’s first unrolled, but I aired mine out on my porch for a few days and most of the smell was gone. This mat is exactly what I needed to keep me exercising without pain. It’s a little difficult to roll up because of the thickness, but mine sits in a corner and stays in place nicely. The price was right, too. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Compare that to my yoga mat picture which is a more standard 1/4″ mat. So be prepared to haul a significantly bigger mat around .I will say this is very light and not a nuisance to carry at all. The dual elastic band is easy to wrap the mat into a roll and carry.Ideal for people who want extra cushioning for the knees and elbows. Really comfortable product
