After buying this brand for a whole slew of years, these guys seem to make a good filter. This one is a fat (fewer housings) short (tight space under a counter) carbon block we run as a parallel (easing the back pressure) pair (longer contact time) for our culinary water.BUT the end washers on these filters are annoying and sucky. They are barely attached and barely attachable. You may have some aggravation if your housings (like ours) are shoved desperately into a ridiculously tight space. If you buy these you might want to get a small tube of silicone plumber’s grease, just for the tackiness. Good for o-rings too.In the meantime I’m going to work on my shaky writing skills…

Filter fits as it should and does a great job on well water with sediment.Chlorine taste is not improved, however. That was the whole point of this purchase, which is expensive for a single filter.

We bought a place near a lake to retire in. But the well water has bad rotten egg smell, and lots of black particles. We tried several filters, and all would work for perhaps 3 – 10 days. This filter kicks butt!!!! It gives us approximately 6-7 weeks of clean, clear, non rotten egg smelling water. I wish it lasted longer for us, but you can’t have everything 🙂 A great filter.
