dont waste money on any filters other than the LG brand.
my husband bought some water filters on Amazon , 3 for $20.00 . They did NOT do the job! The taste was horrible, really horrible. On closer inspection theose water filters only complied with ONE NSF qualification the NSF 42, not the one for taste. So it was money wasted on those THREE water filters. Don’t buy anythhing but the LG brand. There are three certifications required , NSF 42, NSF53 and NSF 401. After replacing the filter and running only 3 liters of water through the system the water was tasteless, Mission accomplished!!! But , of coutrse the price was $54.00 for only one, but if I cant drink the water of use the ice because it tastes so bad, it is money well spent. Nothing worse than having some beautiful green tea I make and than add ice to and it becomes undrinkable.

Perfect product for recent LG fridges
UPDATE1 2025-11-14: Sorry about the confusion—there was an issue with my fridge. Today, LG support fixed my connector. The round hole I mentioned in my previous comment (below) now has some plastic covering it, which makes it look rectangular.UPDATE2 2025-11-14: So, sold by this vendor is a perfectly working with my new LG fridge.Update3: The vendor’s support team was available and very respectful, even though the mistake was on my end.PREVIOUSLY, my wrong comment was:This product is described as the same I have, but the connector inside its body is different: for example, this is a round hole and not a narrow rectangle. So it doesn’t fit at all my LG fridge bought in Dec 2024. This vendor, as many others, do its best to avoid a clear photo of the connector to sell its product. This is a waste of time and money.

Filter does what it says it does. Clean and crisp water
Ask my parents when the last time they changed the water filter in their LG fridge and no one could tell me it the many years they’ve had it, if it’s ever been changed. They also didn’t realized it was supposed to be changed every 6 months! 😳 I know the horror!Immediately looked up the their fridge model and the compatible filter. On the main website the discounted subscription price was much more than what I found on Amazon for and I have prime free shipping so a win is win over here! Received it really fast the next day. Installed and fit this in within a matter of seconds, it was super easy. Reset the filter and ran the water as instructed for 2.5 gallons or 5 mins (I ran ours longer for obvious reasons) I also threw away all the ice (for obvious reasons lol) and already the ice and water tastes so crisp and fresh. And I can sleep happy a night knowing my grown parent children are drinking clean filtered water.

Sometimes OEM is the way to go
These are OEM LG Water Filters, so the quality is top-notch. Each filter is individually wrapped and there were no strange odors or tastes or anything visible in the dispensed water, as has been reported in a large number of reviews for many of the non-OEM filters.Because they are OEM, the fit is perfect.

This LG LT1000P water filter fits our fridge perfectly and works exactly as expected — clean, fresh-tasting water every time. Installation was super easy, and the quality feels reliable. The only downside was that the shipping took longer than I expected, but overall, it’s a great product and worth the wait. 👍

Fits perfectly, as it should
Here is my two cents in buying the OEM filter. It is more expensive than after market filters, but there is no question as them being the correct size, functioning correctly, and fitting correctly. The unit feels of high quality and weighs a bit more than after market ones. Their water filtering quality has been laboratory confirmed. I have seen too many listing for after market ones where you need to modify the filter to fit properly. For the peace of mind those few extra dollars brings, it is well worth the money.

Found this product for our LG fridge freezer difficult to locate. I was very pleased to find one. It was delivered as stated and is now installed. I’ve actually now bought another so that I have one ready when required. As soon as that is in use I shall order another one.
