Pretty Good
I don’t make a ton of matcha at home but I like it. Had my sis try it with me and we both thought it was tad more bitter than we prefer, but you can see & taste the quality. Beautiful color, smells great,. Wish the can was bigger so I wouldn’t go through it so quickly

Matcha
This matcha has a vibrant green color and a naturally sweet, smooth flavor that speaks to its first-harvest quality. It froths beautifully and works well for both traditional preparation and lattes. For anyone who loves premium Japanese tea, this is an excellent choice.

Mild, Nutty, Grassy. Packaged well!
I am an occasional Matcha drinker, and this Matcha powder was quite enjoyable. It is ground very fine as expected, and came in a sealed tin. Once you unseal it you can screw back on the tin lid on to keep it fresh a long time. It has a very mild aroma and flavor, so if you’re looking for a Matcha that doesn’t knock your socks off but gives an enjoyable drinking experience, this might be for you.I would describe its flavor as mild, nutty, and grassy (as is expected of most matchas, of course). It mixed extremely easily in both cold and hot water for me, and I drank it most often with milk and no sweetener. I used a bamboo matcha whisk to mix it in a ceramic bowl. Usually I drink most matchas with sweetener, but with this matcha I find the flavor to be mild enough that sweetener is not necessary (though certainly delicious if you decide to add it). When mixed has a pleasant green color that doesn’t seem excessive. If this is within your budget I’d recommend it, especially if you aren’t trying to mix a bunch of different flavors in. The flavor is soft and enjoyable on its own, with milk, or with a small touch of sweetener in my opinion.

Makes a nice latte
I’m reviewing the item I received, which I believe is different than what I ordered. However, I was actually happy with the mix up as I received the organic version! This one is the first harvest organic Okumidori, and what was ordered was the first harvest Okumidori & Saemidori mix. You can see that the tag on the bottom is where the mistake was made – wrong tag on wrong product. I’ve recently discovered matcha lattes, so wouldn’t call myself an expert, but I really enjoy this one. The flavor is much like the one other brand I’ve tried so far. It whisks in well and is a nice bright green color. I like that the tin is sealed, so you don’t get any leakage. I would have given this 5 stars, but I had reached out to the company to see about getting 3rd party testing results, as transparency is important to me. They responded right away and assured me that all testing meets the requirements, but that they could not share the actual results. This bothers me. I’ve had other companies share results with me and I respect them more for it. So I’m taking away 1 star because of that.

Not bad
I’ll be comparing this to other “ceremonial grade” matchas even though that is not the term used for this particular matcha. It definitely passes the ceremonial grade bar.It has a great vibrant green color, good umami, and whisks well into water. It does not have a strong aroma and has a bit more bitterness than other high quality matchas. The flavors, while rich and complex, are also on the milder side and it’s hard to pick any standout flavors. In many other matchas things like seaweed/grassyness standout, in this matcha it has a mild rich nuttiness and an even milder seaweed flavor. There is also little to no astringency so this particular matcha is quite smooth. For me I think milder flavors are best enjoyed without any added prep like dairy, but with this matcha the bitter-sweetness shines through more without any additions. This matcha also works in a sweet latte-style drink but I don’t think the flavors hold up as well when mixed with dairy.Overall:It’s not a seaweed/grassy flavor bomb that some other matchas are, it’s a more mild sippable type of matcha that’s a little bittersweet. No astringency and very smooth with a good amount of umami and a rich nutty finish. It’s not my personal favorite type of matcha, but it still is high quality. As always with matcha, it also provides a great energy boost and is much better than coffee for starting off my day.

If you like Matcha, you’ll love this!
Do you like Matcha then you will love this product! First, this is organic, which is something I look for when purchasing any sort of Matcha or tea blend. This is made in Japan. I made this by adding just a half of a teaspoon of Matcha to about 2 ounces of water. Then I whisked it until it was well blended. After that, I added about 6 ounces of almond milk to it, and it was just a really nice light refreshing drink. The color is a really pretty bright green when it is mixed together, which is typical of Matcha. This container is just barely over an ounce so it is fairly small, however, considering you only use a half a teaspoon, it actually makes several cups of Matcha so I think it’s a fairly good value for the cost. It blended really well so it had a very smooth texture when drinking. And it tastes like a good quality Matcha. It’s exactly what I would expect. It’s definitely something to enjoy if you enjoy Matcha. I also like the tin that it came in. It is an aluminum type container both the container itself and the lid. It had a pull top aluminum opening. I appreciate that there with no plastic at all in this packaging so I can keep it in this packaging as storage and not worry about any plastic leakage. Overall, this is a great product!
