Great purchase!
Great product! Great price! Works quite well. No longer feel compelled to pay $50.00 plus, for a filter replacement. Followed instructions to run 4 gallons of water thru the newly installed filter. No bad flavor or residue. Water quality is good, as well as filter quality. The fit was fine, with no problems. Found this product to be a bit lighter in weight, than the stock original. The product comes with stickers for each month, so you never forget the month of installation. Each newly installed filter should last for 6 months. Will come back to order more in a year and a half.

So Far, As Good As The Original
Manufacturer-branded refrigerator water filters are expensive. I’ve used third-party, after-market, filters for years and our water seems fine. When the filters fit.I ordered these for overnight delivery last night because I finally got around to installing one I’d ordered months ago after I installed the last of my previous batch. Changed “brands” to one with few reviews because of a deal. Last night, I discovered it was not so much of a deal. The design or shape or something was off just enough that the filter would not stay in place. It could not resist the water pressure and so popped out within seconds. The filter compartment door could hold it in. This is a Whirlpool side-by-side, with the filter installed below the freezer side. I had a three-pack, so I tried another one. Also failed.So I ordered these weirdly named “HMASAV” filters because they were listed as “recommended.” Price was still great: Three for less than the price of one from “W.”So far, it’s a perfect replacement. Good quality. Easy — and successful — installation. The water ran clear — bubble-free — after only six or seven quarts, not the several gallons often recommended.These aren’t marked for the direction to install, but they only go in one way so if you take care to note which way the two connectors and some of the exterior protrusions are oriented, you’ll get it right on the first try.I’ll continue to buy third-party filters, but from now on I’ll stick with Amazon-recommended or highly rated ones with lots of reviews over a long period of time.

I love the water dispenser on my fridge. It gets a LOT of use. Heck in the hard water area we’re in we even filter the water before we put it into the drip coffee maker and that tank has a filter on it too. What I don’t love, is the exorbitant price the manufacturer charges for the OEM filter cartridge. Generally wary of using non oem parts, especially for applications like this, the price finally got me to try these. Now we’re on our third order. There really isn’t a detectable smell, or specific taste and this feels like it lasts as long (if not longer) than the brand version. We always replace it when the built in fridge timer goes off so I can’t speak to how it lasts if you push it. We do make sure we follow the Herculean installation instructions every time, because with previous filters (both named brand and otherwise) we’ve found that if you don’t there *is* a taste or smell to it for the first few days or weeks. Incredibly easy to install, this pops right in. Other versions we’ve used haven’t felt like the best fit but no issues with this product. Maybe one day I’ll run a water quality test but for now the fact we’re all still here months later is good enough.

These filters are great. Last 6 months, plus 2days. Same as the Whirlpool brand. I was amazed at how heavy the filter was after 6 months. Will reorder.
